Reading a company page, figure by figure

1 min read · Data of 6 November 2026

Each of the ten company pages has the same structure. This page defines the figures in the order they appear and shows how one of them, BDO, was worked out.

The head of a company page

At the top of each company page: the code, the close of the session of 6 November 2026, the change against the previous close, and a bar that puts the close between the 52-week low and the 52-week high. For BDO the close is ₱ 125.00, the change +1.71%, and the bar sits at 44.6 of 100.

Every figure there is repeated in the table below it with a line that says how it is worked out.

Each row of the facts table

Close: the last price of the session. Previous close: as the source prints it. Change: close divided by previous close, minus one. 52-week low and high: the extremes of the past year as the source prints them. Place in the range: (close − low) ÷ (high − low) times 100. Market value: shares in issue times the price, as the source prints it. Under those, the board lot, the free float level, the listing date and the foreign ownership limit are the PSE page's own figures.

A figure that a source does not print is not shown.

The budget table

The last table on a company page divides six budgets by the cost of one board lot. It is the arithmetic of the budget page for a single company: whole board lots bought, their value and the money left.

It does not include costs and it does not say a purchase at that price is possible.

Questions before a first share

Can I trust the 52-week range?

It is the range the exchange or the data source prints. For PSX and PSE the exchange page and a second reading agree on the close for every company; where they differ on the range, the company page says so.

Why is there no chart?

A chart needs stored daily bars, and the source of daily bars was not available on the reading date. Pages say so instead of drawing a line from two points.

Are the numbers updated?

No. They are the reading of 6 November 2026, for the session of 6 November 2026. When the data is read again the pages are rebuilt and the dates change with the numbers.
